Description
Wooden 5-Row Abacus
Approx. 33 x 107 x 3.5 cm
Believed to be from the early Showa period or earlier.
There is a red sticker on the bottom of the wooden frame, written from right to left, which reads:
Tenkaichi Soroban Satsumaya
Kanda Jinbocho, Tokyo
Boxwood beads, good working condition.
Antique.
Although it is an old item, it is remarkably sturdy, the beads move smoothly, and it is still usable.
Dust on the bottom of the wooden frame, discoloration on the rods, etc., give it a sense of history.
A very small number of beads have minor chips. Please refer to the photos. This does not affect usability.
Will be shipped as-is.
Between the top bead and the five beads below, there are labels for the place values, from left to right:
Jū (Ten), Man (Ten Thousand), Sen (Thousand), Hyaku (Hundred), Jū (Ten), En (Yen), etc.
Thank you for looking.
